About the work
Tangle With Rocks | Cipoal com Pedras
Installation based on collagen casing

A site-specific installation, composed from cords made out of collagen casing, black woolen thread and rocks made of beeswax and resin. By twisting the collagen casing, Paloma creates threads with different thickness that are hung from the ceiling of the space. The woolen threads are used to connect the different pieces entangling it, creating a three-dimensional drawing and bringing the outside in.
By assembling a myriad of materials, the artist presents bodies not as isolated entities but as permeable and moving matter, continuously transforming each other, establishing and revoking connections within and beyond the realm of the visible, breaking the perceived separation between animal and human.
