Hernan Paganini
Hernan Paganini was born in Zárate, Buenos Aires, Argentina on January 23 1982; currently he lives and works in Seattle, WA, USA. In 2000, he began his studies in Graphic Design at the Buenos Aires University; while he was still a student, he was summoned to teach a class in Morphology alongside Enrique Longinotti at the Buenos Aires University in 2003 where he developed professionally as a teacher for seven years. Interested in finding other applications for his work, he completed the Antiproyecto workshop by Diego Bianchi at Di Tella University and the Concept Clinics by Daniel Joglar and Erika Escoda in 2009. One year later, he was selected to take part in the Artist Program at the Torcuato Di Tella University coordinated by Pablo Siquier and Leopoldo Estol (2010/11); simultaneously, he was assistant to Roberto Jacoby working on the projects Jacoby presented at the Sao Pablo Biennale and Reina Sofia Museum. 2012/17. Inspired by the relation between art, education, culture and the application of these tools in society, Paganini created a Nomadic School Workshop Project called VIAJE EN BARCO; this project has been applied for kids and adults, in several countries across Latin America and Europe. In 2014, he was selected for the National Arts Found Scholarship (CONTI Grant) created by the Government of Buenos Aires participating in clinics with the artists Eduardo Basualdo, Silvia Gurfein and Eduardo Stupía. He was selected to participate in several residencies such as El Ranchito, Matadero, Madrid, Spain (2015); Kiosko Gallery, Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia (2016) and theFacebook Artist Residence Program (2017). He moved to the USA at the beginning of 2018 where he currently lives and works; he recently was selected by the 4CULTURE Institution to be the Artist in Residency for one year working inside Kind County Government Department, Seattle WA during 2018/19; simultaneously he won a grant from the Washington State Arts Commission to be part of the Public Artist Roster between 2018/21 and another by the city of PALO ALTO, California to be part of the Public Art Program between 2018/20.
