BETWEEN ROOTS AND TIDES

This piece explores the interplay between reality and imagination, merging the serene permanence of a forest with the dynamic spirit of a sailboat. Suspended improbably among the trees, the sailboat symbolizes movement within stillness and evokes the tension between freedom and rootedness. Situated in Garzón —a historic waypoint for migrants—it resonates with themes of migration, hope, and transience. By anchoring a vessel of journey in a stable environment, the work reflects on transformation and belonging, inviting contemplation of the universal search for renewal and the balance between grounding and the urge for exploration, migration, and change.
